I love brownies. I like them even more when they’re somewhat healthy, made with dark chocolate and super dense and fudgy. This recipe is made with coconut flour (high in fiber, grain free) and doesn’t have any refined sugar (sweetened with pure maple syrup). They’re perfect if you’re looking for a gluten free, refined sugar free dessert recipe that still tastes like the real thing.
These are so, so simple. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and whisk to combine. Pour into your pan then bake. Brownies!
My next experiment will be replacing the maple syrup with mashed banana and almond butter. Next week!
Paleo Dark Chocolate Brownies

Ingredients
- 1/4 c coconut flour
- 3/4 c dark cocoa powder
- 4 eggs
- 1/3 c coconut oil or grass-fed butter (Kerrygold) - melted
- 1/2 c pure maple syrup or honey
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Grease an 8x8 pan with coconut oil or butter
- Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and whisk to combine
- Pour into your prepared pan
- Bake for 25 minutes
- Let cool for 30 minutes before cutting - they will be gooey at first but will set-up after resting
